The big animals to spot at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra
One of the largest parks in Maharashtra is the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. The reserve got its name from the Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary set in Chandrapur district. The park is known for its teak and crocodile bark which are the predominant tree species. Bengal Tigers
Being a tiger reserve, the park is home to the exotic variety of Bengal tigers which can be primarily spotted at Tadoba, Mohrli and Kolara (three divisions of the park). People have seen these beautiful big cats roaming around in the nearby villages around the boundary of the reserve.

Leopard
After Bengal Tigers, the leopards are the prime inhabitants of the park. The park has reported occasional sightings in the forest. In fact, once a black panther was also spotted in the region sometime in 2018 by a tourist.

Dhole dogs
Then comes Dhole wild dogs, which are also prime natives of Tadoba. These wild dogs live in packs and populate the park. These are also pack hunters and fight with tigers and leopards for their prey.

Sloth bear
Native to the Indian subcontinent, the sloth bear is listed as a vulnerable animal. It’s also considered a dangerous and aggressive animal and often become prey to the Bengal tigers of Tadoba.

Indian bison
Gaur or Indian bison is another wild species that populates the park. These are also Tadoba tigers’ favorite food.
