This is so much more than a platform. The OUE Skyspace LA in California has an awesome glass slide that transports visitors from the 70th floor to the 69th floor. Standing tall at 997 ft above the ground level, the skyslide is a perfect place for adventure seekers!
Shanghai World Financial Center Observatory, China
Counted among the top ten tallest buildings in the world, Shanghai World Financial Center is noted for its 100th-floor observation deck, which is 1555 ft above ground! There are three transparent glass-floor walkways here that offer some splendid views of the entire Shanghai city.
Oriental Pearl Tower observatory, China
The Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai has two glass observation decks, one stands tall at 863 ft and the other at a height of 1148 ft. Visitors can also enjoy a range of delicious delicacies in a revolving restaurant that is set at 876 ft above ground level here.
Kinzua Sky Walk, USA
This is probably one of the oldest skywalks that was built in 1882. The Kinzua Viaduct in Pennsylvania was partially destroyed in a 2003 tornado; later, the bridge was revamped as a pedestrian walkway. Thrill seekers can admire some mesmerising views of the Kinzua Gorge through the glass floor.
Grand Canyon Skywalk, USA
For those who don’t know, this skywalk is constructed with some 90 tonnes of glass that were brought from Germany especially. Famous astronaut Buzz Aldrin became the first person to walk on this terrifying platform. Today, anyone with a heart of steel can walk its length and admire the incredible canyon views.
Dachstein Stairway to Nothingness, Austria
This one is probably the scariest of all! The Dachstein Stairway to Nothingness is a dramatic glass staircase, hanging midair at a height of 1300 ft. It has 14 steps that will take you down to a glass viewing platform. Bravehearts can enjoy some amazing views of the Austrian Alps from up top.
CN Tower, Canada
The CN Tower is an architectural marvel, offering a 360 degree view of Toronto! There is a glass floor looking down from 1122 ft. It’s a perfect spot for adrenaline junkies! Those interested can also try the EdgeWalk here, an outdoor walk around the rim of the roof. Sounds scary, right?
Aiguille du Midi Skywalk, France
This is not for the fainthearted! The uppermost terrace of the skywalk is right in the middle of the French Alps. For some extra dose of thrill and adventure, do step in Into the Void, a glass room with a glass floor at a height of over 3281 ft.
