Getting around on a dime
Word to the wise: The A1 bus links Abu Dhabi airport with the Tourist Club area. It takes longer than a taxi but is much cheaper.

For those with time on their hands, Abu Dhabi’s buses are a brilliantly cheap way to navigate the city. The routes are fairly straightforward, and bus lines cover all major tourist destinations, with more being added all the time.
They usually arrive in 10-15 minute intervals and cost AED 1 per journey, or you can buy a day pass for AED 3. The local buses are also great for anyone wishing to explore Abu Dhabi beyond the metropolis, or take a peek at some of the other emirates.
