Going on a street shopping spree in Mumbai Here’s your guidebook
Mumbai is a city of dreams, offering unparalleled views of the Arbaian Ocean. The city is home to some amazing roadside stalls selling everything from glamorous party wear to trendy footwear, and gives you plenty of options for street shopping. Some prominent local shopping centres in Mumbai include Fashion Street, Crawford Market, Linking Road and Hill Road. But, before heading towards these famous markets, make sure you hone your bargaining skills because you’ll need some!
02
Linking Road
This place is a shopper’s dream destination! From junk jewellery and bags to trendy outfits, Linking Road in Bandra has them all. The place offers some amazing collections of designer brands (imitation, of course) for clothes or accessories. Do not forget to bargain when here.
03
Hill Road
Another extremely popular street shopping hub in Mumbai is set on Bandra’s Hill Road. This is the place that shares spaces with luxury boutique and street vendors equally. From classy dresses, stylish footwear and trendy jewellery, Hill Road has almost everything you can think of.
04
Fashion Street
A paradise for shoppers, this market is a haven for fashionistas! People on a tight budget can buy trendy apparels, fashionable accessories and glamorous footwear at a pocket-friendly price. There are more than 100 small shops lined on the street, selling almost everything.
05
Crawford Market
One of the most famous, iconic and oldest markets in South Mumbai, Crawford Market’s building was completed in 1869. This wholesale market is renowned for being a hub for buying fruits, vegetables and spices in the city. Several prominent restaurants in Mumbai get their ingredients from this market only, so there’s no questioning the authenticity of the product bought here.
06
Colaba Causeway
This is Mumbai’s most iconic shopping street brimming with a range of curios, artifacts, junk jewellery and so much more. Be warned that you might just get tired of walking here as this street is pretty big and never ending. But thankfully, the region is surrounded with some popular restaurants and bakeries where you can refuel and start again.
