One of the most popular ones in the city of Hyderabad, the Salar Jung Museum is an art museum which is one of the three National Museums in India and is famous for its huge collection of the numerous works of art including sculptures, paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, metallic artefacts, carpets, clocks, and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt, Europe, and North America. The museum is named after the Salar Jung family which is the source of the museum’s massive collection. In fact, one of the reasons why this museum is so famous not only among Indians but travellers from other parts of the world is the fact that it houses one of the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world.
