Located almost the top end of the French Quarter, running at an angle just outside of it in fact, is the Frenchmen Street. By day, it is nothing much and is like any other street in the French Quarter. But come evening and the whole street transforms into one long music arena and is home to such places as Spotted Cat, Maison and Negril. The sheer amount of music that emanates from this street is mindboggling but in a good way. It’s no exaggeration to say that almost every building has a jazz club or bar, and every one of them features live music with jazz dominating. In fact, it sometimes becomes really difficult to choose but that’s not an issue since you can just hang out on the pavement and listen to a medley of performances.
