The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department has decided to release postal stamps on 12 prominent tourist destination of the state. The initiative has been taken to promote tourism through ‘My Stamp’ facility of the postal department, and to give publicity to the important tourist destinations in Andhra Pradesh.
Tourism department officials said that as per plans, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the stamps soon. According to the proposed plan for promotion, the department would get stamps for important places like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Durga temple to Borra caves will appear on the stamps along with the AP Tourism Department’s logo.

Other prominent places identified by Tourism Department are Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, Goddess Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada, tribal exhibition at Araku, Sri Mallikharjuna temple at Srisailam Gandikota in Kadapa, Chandragiri Port in Chittoor, RK Beach in Vizag, Pavitra Sangamam at Amaravati, Borra Caves at Araku, Papi Hills at Rajahmundry, Pulicat Lake at Nellore, and Meditating Buddha in Amaravati.

According to the Principal Secretary of Tourism Department the release of the stamps would create some more importance for the destinations. Moreover, the state has already been using various innovative schemes to boost tourism in Andhra Pradesh and ‘My Stamp’ scheme is expected to aid more to the plans.
