Madhubani, Bihar
Also known as Mithila painting, Madhubani painting was born in the Madhubani region of Bihar. Traditionally, this art is practiced by the Mithila women. They would use powdered rice to create gorgeous patterns with a variety of vibrant colors. The patterns could be anything, from flowers and animals to sun and moon.

Kalamkari, Andhra Pradesh
Kalamkari is a hand-painted art style practiced in the villages of Andhra Pradesh. The artists only use natural dyes in the painting, which involves more than twenty steps. These paintings mostly depict scenes out of Indian epics Ramayana or Mahabharata.

This traditional art form from Odisha is mostly inspired by Lord Jagannath. Pattachitra scroll-painting depicts tales of Hindu deities. This form of painting is done on walls, clothes and palm leaves and is known for its intricate details.
