India is the land of festivals where every other day one or two festivals are celebrated. There are some very interesting monsoon festivals that are celebrated across the country with great vigour and enthusiasm. The rains bring much happiness and much festivities. There are various traditional festivals celebrated during the season, including Rath Yatra and Raksha Bandhan, among others.

Rath Yatra
Puri Rath Yatra is one of the most famous festivals in India celebrated in Odisha. Every year, more than lakhs of people visit Puri during this time just to be a part of this glorious festival.
Raksha Bandhan
Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan is the famous Indian festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. It is also celebrated in the Hindu month of Shravan which is considered as the monsoon month. On this day, sisters tie the Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers and pray for their safety, health and long life.
Onam
One of the biggest festivals in Kerala, Onam is a 10-day celebration when people enjoy themselves the most. They eat, sing and dance. The famous snake boat races are organised during this time. Every day has its own significance and rituals differ throughout.
Nag Panchami
Celebrated in the Hindu month of Shravan, Nag Panchami Naga is a traditional festival where nagas or snakes are worshipped by Hindus across India. It is an important Hindu festival, wherein devotees offer milk to Indian cobra.
Minjar Mela
Minjar is celebrated in Himachal Pradesh between the months of July and August. The festival is a thanksgiving ceremony to the Rain God. People in the region pray for good harvest during the seven-day long festival.
