Manali's best shopping experience
Holidays are incomplete without shopping! Retail therapy is the best after doing adventure activities and tourist spots hopping. The most exciting part of any trip is roaming and exploring the destination and picking some memorable souvenirs to take back home.
Manali, a gorgeous hill station, too has its fair number of shopping places, where one can stop and buy some amazing products, such as sweaters, wooden statues, handicrafts and much more.
Here are some of the prominent shopping regions and shops in Manali, where you can indulge in shopping:
Bhuttico
The store was launched by a group of women in 1944 as a cooperative shop. Here, one can shop for jackets, shawls and other winter wear items. In 1993-94, the store was awarded with the National Award by the Ministry of Textiles, another reason that attracts tourists to the store. A must-visit!
Tibetan Market
Unlike any other buzzing markets in Manali, Tibetan Market is known for its peaceful and calm atmosphere. The market is noted for selling a wide range of Tibetan products, including woollen clothes, handicrafts, jewellery and footwear. Bamboo items and Buddhist painting cloth (thangkas) are a speciality of the market.
Old Manali
The Old Manali market is one of the most popular shopping regions in Manali, dotted with a number of stores selling a wide range of commodities. There’s something for everyone here. From narrow roads to colourful streets, this market is a treat to the eyes. You can buy a range of cool stuff here like t-shirts, stylish woollens and accessories, among others.
Manu Market
Located at the Mall Road, Manu Market might be small in comparison to other Manali markets, but is the busiest among all. The market sells a number of attractive and colourful products ranging from books, apparels, footwear and handloom items. The place is also a hit among photographers as it is picturesque and surrounded with natural beauty.
Mall Road
The list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Mall Road. One of the top places for shopping in Manali, the Mall Road is the most visited attraction of every hill station in India, including Manali. Here, one can find almost everything, from apparels and footwear to utensils and electronics!
Himachal Emporium
Situated on the Mall Road, this place is a haven for the lovers of artistic handicrafts! You will find yourself surrounded with delicate and beautiful items inside the emporium. From shawls and pashminas to decorative items and handmade slippers and shoes, there’s a lot that will attract your heart. Price is fixed here, so no bargaining!
