Interestingly, the second oldest example of zero was found here in a small temple within the fort. It is believed that the inscrition is about 1500 years old.
Khajuraho Group of Monuments
One of India's most extraordinary group of monuments, the temples of Khajuraho is awe-inspiring. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built between 885 AD and 1050 AD. Originally, there used to be 85 temples, but a present only 20 of them have survived. The temple artworks are graceful, and charming, evoking an otherworldly feeling.
Pench National Park
Madhya Pradesh's wildlife is world-renowned, thanks to The Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling. The story has been inspired by Madhya Pradesh's very own Pench National Park. You can pretty much meet all the characters in the book here in the national park, including Shere Khan!
Sanchi Stupa
Located in the Buddhist complex of Sanchi in the state, this is a historic stone structure that is extremely popular. The stupa was commissioned by Ashoka the Great. It is an important Buddhist monument in the country today. The complex is also home to other stupas, and Buddhist temples.
Mandu
A magical destination, Mandu is paradise for photographers. This historic city is home to many wonderful old structures, such as the Rani Roopmati Mahal, and Jahaz Mahal, among others. The specialty of Mandu lies in its enchantingly beautiful structures, and knowing the history of the place also adds to its charm. It is very instagrammable indeed.
