Jharkhand is one of the most incredible green states in India which is yet unexplored! The state is home to nature and abundant greenery which makes it a paradise for every nature enthusiast. Though the state is home to some gorgeous mountains and deep forests, the USP attraction of the place are its waterfalls! Also known as the Land of Forests, Jharkhand is dotted with natural wonders. Dassam Falls
Another most popular waterfall to visit in Ranchi is the Dassam waterfall which is located near the Kanchi River. The waterfall, dropping from a height of 44 m, is situated at a distance of 10 km from the National Highway connecting Ranchi, and Jamshedpur. It’s a popular tourist attraction in Ranchi.
Baghmunda Waterfall
Situated in Gumla, this waterfall is among the most incredible tourist spots in Jharkhand. Tourists and locals both come here in huge numbers. There’s also one old Jagannath temple here which is believed to be more than 400 years old.
Jonha Waterfall
This is one beautiful waterfall located nearly 45 km from Ranchi and is in proximity to the Ranchi-Purulia Highway. The waterfall is also known as Gautam Dhara as it is believed that Gautam Buddha rested on the spot for some time.
Hundru Falls
Situated at a distance of around 45 km from Ranchi (capital city), Hundru Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the region. Falling through a cliff from a height of about 98 m, the cascading falls looks like a dream during the monsoons. In winters, the area around the falls turns into a picnic spot.
Hirni Falls
Falling from a height of 37 m, Hirni Falls is a must visit spot for dreamers and culture lovers. There are no stairs here to climb and the falls are visible from the ground floor. Settled in the middle of dense sapwood forest, the falls are difficult to find and are about 70 km from Ranchi.
