Interesting travel trends for 2023
It’s that time of the year again; time to review some cool travel trends to follow in the new year. The year 2022 was the year we came out of the COVID-19 pandemic and started travelling again. Here we are, hoping that the coming year will also be a favourable year for travellers. It goes without saying, mindful travel is the best kind of travel.

With all these in mind, we bring you some very interesting travel trends for the new year.
Overland travel
A lot of overland travel, instead of air and sea. Self-driving holidays come to mind when we talk about overland travel. Here, you do away with curated travels and lean more towards self-reliant travel. It’s more adventurous, isn’t it? This kind of travel often takes us to offbeat places.
Ecotourism
This kind of travel will take you closer to nature, which is never a bad thing. Nature-based tourism gives us a lot of experiences in some of the most pristine places. Through these nature-based travels, we end up helping communities that are dependent on these remote yet natural places.
Solo travel
One of the greatest things about solo travel is that you have the complete freedom to shape your travel. This is not a possibility when we travel with a companion or in a group. Solo travel is hassle free, lightweight and quicker. In short, so much fun.
Domestic travel
Domestic over international? Yes. A lot of surveys on this topic suggest that in 2022, a very high percentage of Indian travellers have gone for domestic travel as compared to international ones. A lot of solo trips, self-drive holidays and quick adventure getaways are nowadays directed towards exploring India’s known as well as offbeat destinations.
Responsible tourism
This is one of the most important things that travellers need to keep in mind—being responsible and being mindful wherever we travel. For instance, when you visit an offbeat and pristine place, try to leave the place just as you found it. Being mindful about the carbon footprint also goes without saying.
Wellness
If we have learned anything from the two years of COVID-19 pandemic (and lockdowns), it is that our health is wealth. Following that, a lot of travellers have shown tremendous interest towards destinations that improve their wellbeing. Be it yoga retreats, forest bathing or Ayurvedic spa holidays, these have turned out to be something indispensable.
