This year, India will be celebrating its 75th year of Independence. On the auspicious occasion, we decided to explore the country’s largest tricolour on the tallest flag post. Belgavi/Belgaum, Karnataka (361 ft)
Belagavi or Belgaum Fort in Kote Kere, Karnataka, boasts of the tallest Indian flagpoles measuring 110 m or 361 ft. The tricolour flutters there in all its glory. It was in 2018 that the The flag pole was unveiled in 2018 by Ramesh Jarkiholi, the District in-charge Minister. The Indian flag hoist here is made using weatherproof Denier polyester fabric.

Attari Border, Punjab (360 ft)
Attari Border is a prominent tourist attraction in Punjab (between India and Pakistan). It is also known as the Wagah Border. Standing tall at 360 ft or 110 m is the Indian national flag that was hoisted here in 2017 by then Punjab Minister, Anil Joshi. The flag is 24 m in width and weighs 55 tons!

Guwahati is home to the fourth highest national flag that was inaugurated on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Standing tall at 319.5 ft atop the Sarania Hill at Gandhi Mandap memorial for Mahatma Gandhi, this flag is a sight to behold.

Kolhapur
Kolhapur is known for being home to the fifth highest flag post in India with the Indian flag fluttering at 303 ft! The flag is located at the Police Garden in Kasaba Bawada and was hoisted on Maharashtra Day. The flagpole here is 90 m high and weighs 24 tonnes.
