One of the prime attractions in Goa, Fort Aguada was built in 1612 by the Portuguese. It was constructed to safeguard Old Goa from outside attacks. An architectural splendour, the fort mesmerises with its grandness. Not many must be aware of the fact that Fort Aguada is also known for having Asia’s first-ever lighthouse!

Also known as Fort Tiracol, Terekhol Fort on the banks of River Tiracol is now converted into a heritage hotel. This 17th century fort is a Portuguese masterpiece! The major attraction here is the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, the famous Spanish missionary.
