It will surely tickle your funny bone, and get you thinking how these spots got those funny names. And since Indian railways serve as the backbone of travel, the names of stations as we pass through them are also fun things to do during train travel. However, there are some stations names that remain etched on our minds due to some reasons. Read on to know why these stations have made their mark to this list like that.
Singapur Road, Odisha
Well, it seems you can reach Singapur even via train! This station lies in Odisha, and caters to various express trains, such as Korba – Visakhapatnam Express, Hirakhand Express, Tirupati – Bilaspur Express, Tatanagar – Alappuzha Slip Express, Samta Express, Puri – Rayagada Express, among others. These express trains pass through the Singapur Road station, and head towards different routes of India.
Bhainsa, Telangana
Bhainsa is a town in the Nirmal district of Telangana, and is home to around 50000 population. As per the records, only six passenger trains cross this station, whereas there are other major railway stations near to Bhainsa junction, which are Purna junction, Mudkhed, and H Sahib Nanded junction.
Daru Station, Jharkhand.
This might remind you of alcohol, but there is no connection to it. Daru is actually a village in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, and the nearest station to this village is Hazaribagh Road railway station.
Panauti Railway Station, Uttar Pradesh
It might be a difficult task for people in this area to get away with the tag ‘Panauti ‘, but as they say, what’s in the name. Panauti is a small village panchayat that is located in the Chitrakoot district of Uttar-Pradesh, and has a total population of around 2197.
Kutta, Karnataka
Well, here it’s not used as slang! Kutta is a small village near Gonikoppal in the Karnataka state, which lies at around 100 km from Mysuru, and sits at the edge of the Coorg region. Blessed with scenic beauty, this spot has a lot to offer for inquisitive travellers.
Bhosari, Pune City
Bhosari, earlier known as Bhojapur, is a village near Pune city in Maharashtra. Famous for its artistic value, the major attraction of this place is the 2000-year-old Artist temple. The history of Bhosari village can also be traced to the era of Gautam Buddha.
Bibinagar, Hyderabad
