East Karbi Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary

This Wildlife Sanctuary is an important part of the Karbi Anglong-Kaziranga landscape in Assam. Karbi Anglong has enchanting green forests and picturesque hills, which are perfect for treks. With an area of 221 sq km, the East Karbi Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary is home to several species of animals, such as the elephant, leopard, water buffalo, deer, monitor lizard and python. It also hosts numerous bird species, including the great Himalayan hornbill, imperial pigeon, green pigeon, emerald dove, hill partridge, jungle fowl, pheasant, hoopoe, koel, king fisher, stork, heron, pelican, wood pecker, myna, yellow bittern and egret.
