Cultural programmes, tempting prizes and many other goodies have been put together to organise the 3-day-long Visakha Utsav in Visakhapatnam, which starts in the port town from today onwards. This mega tourism and cultural fiesta is the last grand event of the calendar year.

Reportedly, all line departments comprising VUDA park, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), Tourism, Revenue, Endowments and Police departments are completely focused in making due arrangements befitting a grand show.
Even the state government has asked the district authorities to make Visakha Utsav commensurate with the Brazilian Carnival. In addition, the admin authorities have been told to make sure that all the prime spots across the city are well lit during this tourism festival.

"An international flower show would also be conducted at MGM Park located in the VUDA Park. All the replicas of important temples would also be set up in association with the concerned Devasthanams," said Rao.
In order to make the fest bigger than ever, the organising committee has declared bumper prizes for lucky attendees. The impressive list boasts of Royal Enfield bullet motorbikes, foreign trips, iPhones, Maruti cars, gold and dress materials.
