Bookmark trekkers! These are the best treks in the Nepal Himalayas
If you are someone who has the courage and ambition to trek and hike around the Himalayas, we recommend that you check out these hikes; take our word, some of these can change your life and others will enhance your outdoor experience nonetheless!
Poon Hill Trek
If you only have a limited amount of time to experience the Himalayan hiking experience, this breathtaking hike takes only five days on average. A massage at the Jiva Cafe & Spa is also highly recommended if you're looking to relax those tired muscles.
Annapurna Circuit
You will be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains as well as the opportunity to travel through the world's widest mountain pass, the Thorong La Pass. This is yet another multi-day hike that can take anywhere between 11 and 13 days to complete. This hike is more moderately paced than the Mount Everest hike.
Mount Everest Base Camp
It takes about two weeks of hiking to reach the South Base camp. This trail is frequently led by a sherpa, who will ensure that you take the quickest and safest route to camp. You can enjoy a magnificent view of the world's tallest mountain from this vantage point!
Langtang Trek
The Tibetan influence is strong here, which is unsurprising given the country's proximity to Tibet. You will walk past several ancient Buddhist monasteries, some of which you may be able to see up close, surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan mountains
Gokyo Ri
This hike takes about 12 days to complete. The five emerald lakes that are located along the hike have a stunning turquoise colour, almost ethereal in appearance. They're also a great place to go camping or take a long, well-deserved break.
Upper Mustang Trek
You will have the opportunity to see ancient palace ruins, such as those found in Lo Manthang. Follow an ancient salt caravan route through the Himalayan foothills for one of Nepal's best hikes for those interested in learning about ancient Buddhism.
Jomsom Trek
The hike takes about five days to complete. It is located in the Mustang region of Nepal and is widely regarded as one of the best in the country due to its striking resemblance to the vast Tibetan landscapes.
Kathmandu Valley Trek
This hike should take 6 to 7 days to complete. You're likely to arrive in Kathmandu quickly and stay for a few days (be sure to visit these places), Walking along the Kathmandu Valley Rim, you'll be greeted by some of the world's most beautiful scenery, including a sweeping view of the mountains (including Mount Everest on a clear day).
The Tamang Heritage Trail
For thousands of years, the Tamang have lived in these mountains, and many of their customs have remained unchanged. Not only will you be able to buy a variety of handmade carvings and jewellery from the Tamang, but there will also be plenty of opportunities to stop and soak in a hot spring to relieve that hiking ache.
Phulchowki
This short, relatively easy trek takes you up Phulchowki in the Godavari region, which, at over 2,400 metres, for stunning views of the Kathmandu Valley. The trail is absolutely overrun with gorgeous blooming flowers in the spring and summer, as one might expect from the name (which translates to "Hill of Flowers").
