The brainchild of Filipino video artist Quincy Teofisto and media designer Jasmine Tuan, Blackmarket stocks up-and-coming home-grown labels (9 Fountains, FruFru, Better Off Dead) alongside tightly-edited collections from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and a smattering of labels from further afield (Ksubi, Juliette Has A Gun).
The anti-establishment duo's passionate online manifesto urging shoppers to 'reject the ideals of commercialism' may not be the most well thought-out business plan, but there are rich pickings for shoppers willing to be 'vending machines for the economy'.
