Digha
A blessed getaway from the crowd of Kolkata, Digha is perfect for a solo traveller. You do not have to do much here, except for taking in the splendid views of the sea. Sunsets and sunrises are much coveted, and everything seems quite out-of-ordinary. Digha also has a lot of options for hotels at all price ranges, so you don't have to stress your bank account either.
Shantiniketan
A walk back in time, Shantiniketan lives up to its name. The destination is home to Rabindranath Tagore's world-renowned Visva-Bharati University, and is known for its beautiful spring festival. You can stray further away from here into the rural areas to witness the real charm of the coutnryside.
Henry's Island
If you are looking for a place that is unexplored, then Henry's Island is the best option. Located close to the Sunderban, this island holiday will inspire you, and enchant you. There is also a watchtower here from where you can get stupendous views of the surrounding areas. More recently, it has become a favourite destination for birdwatchers.
Kalimpong
This little Himalayan getaway is home to Buddhist monasteries, and renowned nurseries. Days here are spent lazily, eating Nepali or Tibetan food, going on short treks, visiting monasteries, and birdwatching. This is a place where you would want to return over and over again.
