Beautiful green parks to visit in Udaipur
Udaipur is not just the city of lakes but is also the city of parks! The city has a number of green spaces which are as famous as any palaces and forts in Rajasthan. These parks are Udaipur's heritage, and are noted for offering tremendous sunsets and sunrise views. These spaces are every nature lover’s dream and are best suited for family outings.
Go on and explore Udaipur's beautiful parks.
Nehru Park
The park is located on an island in Fateh Sagar Lake and is a must visit attraction in Udaipur. To reach the park, one needs to take a boat from the jetty. The boats are available during the day. There’s no entry fee for the park but for boat rides, tickets are required.
Saheliyon-ki-Bari
Saheliyon ki Bari or Courtyard of Maidens is one of the most famous attractions in Udaipur. This gorgeous regal garden was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the 18th century for his royal ladies. There are spectacular marble pavilions, elephant sculptures and lotus fountains here. Do not miss out on witnessing sunset and sunrise views from here.
Pratap Park
Situated on top of Moti Magri (Pearl Hill), this pretty park in Udaipur is home to a huge bronze statue of Mewar king Maharana Pratap on his horse Chetak. The two fought against Mughals in the war. You’ll be stunned with the beauty and the design of the park which features many smaller gardens, the most famous one being the Japanese rock garden.
Maharana Pratap Memorial Park
The park is famous for the landmark "I Love Udaipur" sign. Opened recently, it is set close to the banks of Lake Pichola and honours late Pratap Bhandari, the man who helped in the development of the city. The park is equipped with solar lights and has recycled cement tiles.
Guru Gobind Singh Park
Dedicated to the tenth guru of the Sikhs, the park is set near Moti Magri next to Fateh Sagar Lake. It’s a favourite spot of fitness freaks and a lot of morning walkers can be spotted here amid the greenery. Do visit the park park for some fantastic sunset views.
