If you love art, this is the place for you. An art gallery and an academy of fine arts, this place has its origins in Count Giacomo Carrara, a wealthy collector art patron who left a generous legacy at the end of the 18th century. The building that houses this collection has been built in a neoclassical style in 1810 and houses thousands of paintings from the 15th to 19th century by famous artists. They also have several collections of drawings prints, bronzes, sculptures, porcelain, furniture, and medals. The place is well organised and they also have English audio guides that give you a peek into the history of art of Italy (mainly of the middle ages). Apart from sublime Crivelli alter pieces, there is a variety of others like Madonna with child, Raphael's St. Sebastian and a selection of portraits including Mantanga, Lotto, and Bellini. This is where you can come up and close with art from renowned artists like Lotto, Caravaggio, Mantegna, Moroni, Pisanello, Foppa, Bellini, Raffaello, Botticelli, Palma il Vcchio; all of who have a connection with Bergamo. If you want to take a good look at this place, set aside at least two hours.
