A look at the world's scariest adventure sports and where to do them
If you think your second name is adventure, then this will definitely interest you. For those who love extreme sport and have that kind of confidence then the world has so much to offer you. There are a number of insane adventure sports that can be done.
Here we have compiled a list of the world’s scariest adventure sports and where to do them.
Wave surfing, Hawaii
Hawaii is noted for its surf beaches. The big-wave surfing at the Hawaii beaches is quite a popular and extreme sport. Every winter, surfers come here to challenge the Pacific’s huge waves. Wave riders are thrown into the 40 ft and more waves by jet ski! It’s one heart pumping sport not meant for everyone.
Shark-cage diving, Australia
So this water sport is really really dangerous as people come absolutely close to the angry sharks! Those who wish can head to Neptune Islands, where they can get up, ose and personal with a shark for 45 minutes. With nothing but a metal cage to protect you from this predator.
Ice climbing, USA or Switzerland
An extreme winter sport, ice climbing is only for seasoned climbers. It is just like rock climbing, except you are climbing the icy part of a mountain. The climbers have special climbing equipment to take the challenge. There is always the fear of avalanches so it's clearly not an easy task.
Free solo climbing, any place with mountains
A nerve-wrecking and extreme version of rock climbing, free solo climbing is the act of climbing without any safety gears, like ropes or harnesses. In such cases, accident rates are high therefore a lot of experience is needed. Do watch Hollywood’s famous movie Free Solo to get an idea about the activity.
Cliff diving in Wales
Counted among the most extreme and scary adventure sports, cliff diving is not everyone’s cup of tea! This is one insane sport wherein athletes twist, and somersault from as high as 25 m. The sport is mainly done at the Blue Lagoon in Wales.
Cave diving, Mexico and South Australia
Another extreme sport that takes you in the womb of earth is cave diving. This adventure activity is meant only for super experienced divers. A number of people have been lost in the depth of waters because no one knows what lies underneath.
Bull running, Spain
This sport is so confusing and reality defying! It’s hard to understand whether it’s fun or dangerous. Running of the bulls is an annual sports event that takes place in Spain. The event is also well depicted in the superhot Bollywood flick, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
