But do not be fooled by the easy-going image, as Texas is a lot more diverse than that. It is known for some of the finest cities in the country, such as Houston, Dallas, Austin, and more. It is a state where you can start by watching a rodeo, and also tour some of the finest museums on the same day. With so much diversity, we are quite sure that a trip to Texas will not only be memorable, but also incredibly educational. Here are the top Texas attractions, and experiences you must sign up for. Rodeo One of the biggest crowd pullers, the Texas Rodeo experience is quite something. A unique sport that requires every bit of talent, and bravery, this is where the spirit of Texas comes alive. You will be enchanted by the cowboys and their skills, not to forget the adrenaline rush you get here, it is irreplaceable. You have to take out time to visit Texas’ marvellous Big Bend National Park. It borders Mexico on the west of Texas, and you are definitely going to fall in love with the place. You can go on scenic drives here in the National Park, or go around the place accompanied by a Park Ranger. Then you ought to head to the Padre Island National Seashore for a change of scenery. Located in Padre Island, it offers blue sky, and crystal clear waters, and of course sea turtles! You could then take your kids to Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. The place offers some great outdoor adventures such as hiking, and biking.

Barbecue
We all have seen movies, or watched food vloggers explore the barbecue scene in Texas, and it does look enticing. The meat smoking or barbecue is done on a huge scale here, with some very popular joints where people stand in queues to get their share. It is more than just a culinary experience, rather it is a cultural experience that you must experience. Try Ray’s BBQ Shack, located in Houston for some soulful slices of meat; Miller’s Smokehouse in Belton is known for its smoky delicacies; while Snow’s BBQ that opens every Saturday morning is yet another great place, however, you must come early to face a long queue.

Museums

Museum visits are an amazing way to understand any place better, and Texas provides ample opportunities in this regard. The state has some renowned museums, notably, the Houston Museum of Natural Science; the Space Center, Houston (official NASA visitor center); Kimbell Art Museum, Fortworth, to name a few. You also have a museum dedicated to the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy, and it is called the The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Dallas.
Festivals

The city of Austin in Texas hosts the incredible South by Southwest Festival, better known as SXSW. The festival is a celebration of various things, and hence it is rightfully known to host conferences and festivals. It involves films and music, and can be an eye-opener for many. If you have a knack for cinema, then this is definitely your cup of tea. Then there is the Euphoria Music Festival that is held at Carson Creek Ranch to celebrate some of the best electronic music of today. Hop-hop acts, art installations, yoga, and a lot more. Then there is the unique Day for Night festival that has managed to weave music and art to produce an exciting new world.

Pro Tip – Dallas-Fort Worth is a gem of a place in Texas, and can give you a variety of great options when it comes to experiences. The place has 13 entertainment districts, and each of them offers something unique. For example, you have the Dallas Arts District full of art galleries, restaurants, and retails. Then you also have Oak Lawn as one of the districts that is known for an impressive nightlife, and great diners. So just take your pick! Also, do not leave without buying a cowboy outfit, or at least a hat.
