Here are three cities we have picked for you, which are known for their extraordinary experiences, most notably its musical experiences. After all, the south has given the world some of the finest jazz musicians, country musicians, and even rappers. Come to think of it, music would not be the same today without these legends. So here is a soul-searching extravaganza in the American south.
Nashville, Tennessee
Bob Dylan’s 1969 album is titled Nashville Skyline; the city is home to the rock band Kings of Leon. It is easy to say that romance is in the air here in the city, and you must come here to witness it all. Nashville is in fact home to the Johnny Cash museum as well. Country music is such an integral part of the city that there is a Country Music Hall of Fame as well. Besides the good old country sound, there is also a world of other great experiences available for travellers. You must try the southern cuisine, which is a very unique fare, and one dish to try is the country ham. By the way, Nashville was also the residence of country music legend Hank Williams, who auditioned here for the Grand Ole Opry (a country music concert stage), and got rejected! You can still visit the Grand Ole Opry in the city.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Home of Jazz giant Louis Armstrong, New Orleans is the dream destination of every run-away romantic. It is simply the heart of jazz music in America, and even to this day, boasts some of the best jazz performers. You have to visit the New Orleans Jazz Museum, followed by the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Then later, try the very best of southern cuisine, such as cajun, creole, etc. If you ever happen to be here during the festival of Mardi Gras, it would be one of the greatest experiences you will ever live. But even if you are here during other times, do visit some jazz, and blues clubs that are still belting out some of the best music you will ever hear.
