NYC Cravings may be the most authentic piece of Chinatown cuisine to ever park itself in Midtown. The truck's secret lies in its super-crispy Taiwanese frying techniques. The menu includes fried chicken, pork chop or Tian-Bu-la (fish cake), all served atop a bed of white rice and accompanied by a thick, salty-sweet sauce made of pork and tangy cabbage. Vegetarians might have a tough time making a meal from this truck, though they could probably subsist on the excellent pickled greens alone. It's hard to say if deep-fried Taiwanese comfort food is truly gourmet, but these dishes really hit the spot around lunchtime.
