InterContinental Presidente Merida is located in the heart of the colonial city Merida, which is also the largest city of the Mexican state Yucatán. It was founded in 1542 and built on the site of the Mayan city T'hó. Many Spanish colonial buildings use the carved Mayan stones from ancient T'hó, evident in the architecture across the city.

Guests can choose from different types of rooms including Deluxe, Junior Suite, Standard, Executive, Flat Club, Master Suite and Presidential Suite. Among a number of modern facilities, all the rooms have coffee makers too. The rooms have access to Club Lounge on the second floor which serves American breakfast from 7 am to 10 am. From 10 am to 6 pm, guests can enjoy pastries, cookies and soft drinks. InterContinental Presidente Merida has restaurant Frutas y Flores serving a variety of Mexican and international dishes from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm. With its business centre and services the hotel is fully equipped for business meetings and conventions. It has 9 spacious rooms and lounges, along with translation and interpreter services. The hotel offers free parking to its guests as well.

Once at the hotel, you can check out the nearby UK Massage and Reflexology Clinic, Anthropology and History Museum, Paseo de Montejo (a busy avenue) and Palacio Canton, among many other interesting places. Guided tours will take you to popular historical sites and for Yucatán day tour. Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built by the Maya people. Izamal is another place to go on your list. Located 66.5 km east of Merida, it has artefacts from the pre-Hispanic era.
