Much like any international tourist destination, Stockholm has a thriving nightlife, and one can say that nightlife in Stockholm never has a dull moment. Bars here usually have no cover charge, but they do have a minimum age for entrance. Sometimes the age limit for access into establishments can be as high as 27 years of age. It is very important to bring ID cards with you when partying in Stockholm. The clubs here are mostly managed illegally, and summers see open air parties thrive. Winter partying can seem shady to many, as they are mostly held in underground vacant areas, like other Swedish cities. You should have a Swedish person by your side, as these locations are usually known through word-of-mouth. Clubs in Stockholm can play techno, hip-hop, house, and other electronic music. Stureplan has the most expensive and sophisticated nightclubs, and Södermalm has quirky bars, and nice alternative music places.
