Havelis in Rajasthan for a royal stay
There is something special about the havelis of Rajasthan—they can make you feel like one of Rajasthan royals in an instant. Plus, they allow you to freely lounge on the dock or simply sit around for hours. In other words, vacationing in old havelis is ideal for all seasons; with so many of them across Rajasthan, the nearest heritage haveli is not far from you.
Ahead, we have the most amazing heritage houses aka havelis, which have now been turned into tourist accommodations. Some are suitable for large groups, or lengthy vacations with extended family, while others are more secluded. Check out the old and gold beauties.
Desert Haveli Guest House, Jaisalmer
This historical, 450-year-old heritage haveli cum guesthouse, is located in the Golden Fort of Jaisalmer. The haveli has a great ambiance, asophisticated character and all the guests are very well taken care of. The haveli has Queen Deluxe and King Super Deluxe rooms.
Roopangarh Fort Hotel, Ajmer
If you do not mind living in an old haveli, which is believed to be haunted, you are in for a charming stay at the 17th-century four-towered fort and palace, the Roopangarh Fort Hotel near Ajmer. It is located on NH1 between Delhi and Jaipur. The thrilling part of being there–the secret passages and steep staircase.
The Hill Fort Kesroli, Alwar
The charming Hill Fort-Kesroli dates back to the 14th century. The property overlooks green fields and offers a breathtaking view of the evening sun. For a trip to remember, nothing in the region beats the Hill Fort Kesroli.

Piramal Haveli, Shekhawati
Located in Baggar, Shekhawati, this haveli is a small and beautiful Rajasthani-Italianate establishment and one of the very few intimate Rajasthan heritage hotels. Located close to Delhi, the Piramal Haveli was built in 1928 with a vast open garden and two pillared courtyards painted with cool frescoes of aeroplanes, flying angels and gods seated in motor cars.
Balsamand Lake Palace, Jodhpur
At a short distance from Marwar, Mandore, and merely 8 km from Jodhpur, lies the Bal Samand Lake Palace. The palace was built by Maharaja Jaswant Singh I of Jodhpur in the 17th century. The sprawling 60-acre property has fruit orchards, landscaped gardens, manicured lawn, 26 well-designed Garden Rooms with their own croquet lawn, rose garden and restaurant.
