Yet, during the era of British colonial rule, Samode was entrusted to the Nathawat clan, who held the distinguished titles of Rawal Saheb or Maha Rawal. The Rawal lineage played a pivotal role in the court of Jaipur, even ascending to the esteemed position of the state's Prime Minister. In acknowledgment of their service, they were granted a prestigious residence within the fortified city.
