Post pandemic retreats
In the current situation, and for the next few years to come, it would be advisable to travel mindfully. To be careful, and not to visit crowded destinations will be the right thing to do. In this regard, homestays might step in to play a big role. You can be away from the crowd and maintain social distance. It would be even better if you pick such a homestay in destinations that are remote.
Here are some of the very best homestay options for you to choose from post-pandemic.
Capella Forest Retreat & Homestay, Goa
Not every Goan holiday has to be about partying, crowds, and socialising. You can stay away from all of that and yet have a great time. Stay close to nature, experience the allure of solitude at the Capella. There are three rooms here, fitted with all modern facilities, making your stay comfortable. Tastefully decorated, the rooms are just gorgeous, and the property also has a swimming pool.
Anugraha, Kerala
Step into the world of Anugraha in Kottayam district. A century old heritage home is at the centre of this elegant stay. It is simple, classy, and is an ode to slow living. It is located in the village of Aymanam in Kottayam district, which also happens to be the setting for Arundhati Roy’s 1997 novel, The God of Small Things. Here, beauty is indeed hidden in the small things. The villa is for six people, and the property does have Wi-Fi, but you really do not need it. Surrounded by greenery, Anugraha is just heartwarming.
Fort Rampura, Bundelkhand
Deep in the infamous ravines of Chambal lies this historic fort, so in way this is more of a fort stay. But what an experience it is, the imposing property takes you back to a different time. The 600-year old fort plays host to those who would like to experience a whole different side of India. There are four rooms to pick from, all of which are tastefully done. The fort allows you to simply sit back, and have a good time, doing nothing. It will heal your turbulent soul.
Himalaya Retreat, Himachal Pradesh
If you are looking for something cosy, then here it is. Himalaya Retreat in Manali is just the right destination for a great winter getaway. The property is located in a remote area, so much so that there are no roads here. Hence, you will have to trek for 50 minutes to reach the destination, perfect for anyone who loves to trek. Though the apartment is ideally for two people, the hosts make arrangements for two more people to fit in. The view from the house is just gorgeous to say the least.
We request our readers to not travel unless essential. If travelling, please follow all the health and safety guidelines by Central and State governments as well as local bodies.
