The Sunshine Coast is beautiful, hiding lovely beaches and quirky little towns that are ideal for a seaside holiday. But the Sunshine Coast is not just about the coast. Heading inward, you are in for a rewarding experience. Filled with thick forests interspersed with farmlands that produce the most amazing produce and offer nature walks and trekking tracks, the hinterland is a chequer board of tastes, flavours and experiences. Amidst this scenic landscape are hidden some unusual destinations such as Chef Martin Duncan’s Freestyle Escape in the Blackall Range near Mapleton. A lovely boutique resort with just a few rooms, it is also a cooking school and is located dramatically on a hill top where guests are served the chef’s famous cuisine. The establishment also does special meals for groups, all with locally grown product.
