Visit Hanoi’s Water Puppet Theater for a colourful and entertaining display of some traditional Vietnamese art and culture. The theatre was built in 1969 and the water puppet shows portray the daily life of Vietnamese farmers, dragon dancing and historical performances, in all their vibrant colour, lights and music.
Since 1990, Thang Long Water Puppe Theater artists have performed numerous amounts of water puppet shows for both foreigners and locals. There are 500 water puppet shows a year, attracting over 150,000 visitors. From the theatre, you can also see the Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy a nice cup of Vietnamese coffee. This is one of the most popular places to see in Hanoi, where you can learn more about Vietnamese culture and daily life of the Vietnamese people in a colourful and entertaining way.
