Chhatris of Scindia Dynasty

Located in the Chhatri Bazar area of Gwalior, the Chhatris dedicated to the prominent Scindia Dynasty make for one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city. These Chhatris are also famous not only for the prominent members of the Scindia family that they are dedicated to, but are also known for their beautiful architectural styles. These chhatris preserve the beauty of the medieval period and are decorated with stone carvings of elephants, horses and tigers. Popular among both the locals and travellers from different parts of the country, some of the most prominent Chhatris of this place are dedicated to Jivaji Rao Scindia, Daulat Rao Scindia and Janko ji Rao Scindia among a lot of others.
