It is Fiji’s first national park and well worth a visit for all visitors to Fiji. The dunes range from 20-60 m high and have been forming for millions of years, making this a fascinating attraction for those interested in history and archeology. Along with the dunes, the park is home to many different plant species and 22 different species of birds. There are a few options for visitors to the park. There is a one or two hour walk through the park or you can opt for a guided tour to learn more about the dunes. One of the most interesting parts in the park is the old archaeological site that is host to ancient lapita artifacts. If you are planning on visiting the park on a sunny day, make sure to bring a hat and plenty of water. There are plenty of hills to walk up and down so visitors should be in good shape.
