If you are interested in history, there is a good chance you will want to head to the Fiji Museum to learn more about the cultural history and people of Fiji. Located in Suva’s Thurston Gardens, this museum takes visitors over the past 200 years with archaeological materials and cultural objects. Start first with the history gallery and the art gallery moving your way through the Masi and Indo-Fijian gallery. There is also an exhibition space that houses temporary exhibit, which changes from time to time. Some of the most famous and interesting exhibits include the Ratu Finau from 1913, essentially a double hulled canoe complete with an enclosed deck as well as a pretty interesting display about cannibalism.
