The way the world eats
Barbeques are great fun. You can stand or sit around the pit, and spend hours with friends and family making merry. There is no right way to do barbeque, every country has adapted its own style of doing it, and this makes it such a fun thing to explore during travels. If you ever get the opportunity to travel abroad, getting invited for a barbeque would be mighty fortunate. Here, we take a look at some of the top barbeque techniques from around the world.
Char Siu, China
China's favourite way to do barbeque, Char Siu is extremely famous, not to mention, delicious. This way of making barbeque meat belongs to the Cantonese style of cooking. Usually done with pork meat, and you have to add five particular spices for it to be called Char Siu. Try it if you ever visit China, or may be at your local Chinese restaurant.
Asado, Argentina
A barbeque tradition dating back to the 1800s, this is quite similar to the one they have in Chile. However, here, you have different cuts of meat. Blood sausages, and steaks are quite common in such barbeque. An open flame, different cuts of meats, and you are set for a good time.
Lechon, Philippines
A Spanish style of barbeque that is wildly popular across Philippines, this is a barbeque of the whole pig. The pork is spit roasted over charcoal for a long time, and the result if simply delicious. The best part is that the meat ends up being extra crispy on the outside, so it really goes well with drinks, or other foods in the main course.
Tandoor, India
India's favourite way to eat chicken, this is a barbeque that just makes chicken a lot tastier. Cooked in a clay oven, the meat has a signature charred look, and tastes heavenly. It goes very well as a starter, or with a pint of beer. You can never have enough of these juicy delights.
