Dining dreams
Dining has far surpassed its basic value today. Eating is an experience, a soul-touching one at that, and while taste matters a great deal, there are other factors that contribute to the experience of eating. Restaurants across the world are working on a great deal more than just the taste, such as the ambience. Travellers on the other hand are now attracted to dining experiences that are unique. One such unique experience is to dine at a restaurant that is located in a remote area. Establishments that have a unique location, with staggering views can pique the interest of a traveller.
Here are some of the more remote, yet fascinating dining experiences around the world.
The Three Chimneys, Scotland
One of Scotland’s finest restaurants, The Three Chimneys is quite distant from the crowd, and is housed in a 100 year old stone cottage. The intimate dining experience certainly sets high standards for diners across the world. The items in the menu are carefully prepared with fresh local ingredients and the setting is simple yet sophisticated.
Cold Spring Tavern, California
It used to be a stagecoach stop back in 1865, and today it serves some of the tastiest foods here at its gorgeous location. A romantic place to say the least, Cold Spring Tavern serves meats such as venison, and duck, among others. A traditional place by all means, this is like going back in time.
Furneaux Lodge, New Zealand
Any place that cannot be accessed by regular transportation is definitely high up in the list here. This fascinating property can be reached with the help of water taxis, or a helicopter. It is a world of its own, and what a world it is! It is located in the outer reaches of Queen Charlotte Sound, and dining here is all about the local produce.
Tan Hill Inn, England
The highest pub in Britain, this 17th-century place is nicely isolated from the hustle and bustle. A great place for passing motorists, it is worth driving up all the way just for the experience. To add to its charm is the windy hilltop that makes your time here just so memorable. A pint in hand, you can safely say that you are living the dreams. This also happens to be an inn (hotel), as the name suggests, and dining Dining at the Dome is a must.
