Hand-Picking the best wine tasting experiences in Tri-Valley during California Wine Month
The Tri-Valley is home to one of the oldest wine regions in California, with the first wine grapes being planted by Spanish missionaries in the Livermore Valley in the 1760s. This region helped put California wine on the world wine map, winning America’s first international gold medal for wine in 1889 at the Paris Expedition.
Today, the Livermore Valley Wine Country is home to over 50 wineries that are predominantly owned by multi-generational winemakers. Outside of this prolific wine region, the entire Tri-Valley celebrates its deep-rooted viticultural history by way of unique wine experiences and amazing wine selections offered at local restaurants.
September is California Wine Month, and whether you’re a longtime wine-lover or you’re just getting your feet wet, this is one of the best times of the year to enjoy wine-centric events highlighting America’s top wine-producing state and our local award-winning wineries. This September, several Livermore Valley Wine Country wineries will be home to a variety of unique and informative events that help celebrate the Livermore Valley’s deep-rooted heritage in viticulture and ring in the beginning of yet another fruitful harvest season.
Read below for a collection of upcoming live performances, special wine, and food pairings, meet and greets with winemakers, and more California Wine Month happenings in the Tri-Valley this September.

Some of the best wine and dine options in the area include Eddie Papa’s American Hangout, McKay’s Taphouse & Beer Garden, Campo di Bocce and Zephyr Grill & Bar.
There are numerous wine tours, wineries, wine bars, and restaurants in the area to try out which will surely leave you spoilt for choice.
