Kathi roll was introduced by the Nizam’s in 1932 and was the market leader till the 1970s. However, as other eateries copied the same concept and came up with their own Kathi rolls, Nizam’s was forced to shut shop in 2003 for two years due to some issues. Although, some locals believe that they no longer make the same quality of Kathi rolls as before, tourists in Kolkata should still visit Nizam’s eatery after their shopping stint at the New Market.Where: New Market, Kolkata

Campari, Kolkata

Campari's kathi rolls are unique because they marinate and cook their meat in the tandoor. It is a humble eatery having small space with no seating arrangement. That’s why they focus on takeaway or you may have to stand at the tables to eat your meal. The service, however, is prompt and courteous. Overall, Campari is a well-rated place to enjoy value for money and delicious kathi rolls and other local snacks.Where: 155 B, Rash Behari Avenue (near Bandhan Bank), Gariahat, Kolkata
