They say, true travellers go on road trips and eat wherever whatever is available. But legends know which specific dhaba to hit while on the road. These dhabas specifically…
Mumbai - Pune - Sunny da Dhaba
This route is incomplete without a halt at Sunny da Dhaba in Lonavala. Easily one of the most popular dhabas around, Sunny da Dhaba has their pretty popular paneer butter masala and chicken tikka masala for the travellers.
Manali - Leh - Chandra’s Dhaba
Popularly known as Chacha-Chachi’s dhaba, this dhaba is located in Batal. Don’t expect full course meals here, for this is not that kind of dhabas. It’s a humble roadside eatery that’s run by an old couple, fondly called Chacha and Chachi by travellers. They have been running their small dhaba for the past 45 years. Be it a piping cup of tea or a simple rajma-chawal meal, Chacha-Chachi’s place has a loyal fan base.
Delhi - Nainital - Shiva Tourist Dhaba
This one’s the first major dhaba you will come across on this route. You must stop here to eat because it is one of the top and most popular one on this particular route. Their service is fast and clean. The lassi here is a must-have.
Guwahati - Tawang - DHABA End Dee’s Samaroh
If this is your first time road tripping across Assam, DHABA End Dee’s Samaroh on Tezpur to Tawang route is your best bet. Try the authentic and traditional Assamese food, especially the duck curry. Here, you will find delicious non-vegetarian and vegetarian items.
Bengaluru - Goa - Sai Palace
This one’s a long route and you will find many eateries along the way. Make sure you make a stop at the Sai Palace Restaurant (2-3 hours from Bengaluru) for a good breakfast. Also, Rajasthan Dhaba between Hubli and Dharwad is a good place to stop for lunch.
