Café Christiana

Belle époque luxury opposite the Parliament
Talk of the town: Café Christiana is housed in the former headquarters of the Norwegian freemasons.
Inspired by the grand coffee houses of early 20th century Europe, Café Christiana blends historical charm with modern service. The decor is in keeping with the period – marble pillars, ornate mirrors, chandeliers – and the café's huge collection of antique curios lends a touch of whimsy.
The signature Christiana afternoon tea - served with or without Champagne - is best enjoyed on the veranda, which on balmy, Summer weekend evenings transforms into a popular bar with DJs. There's also a well-regarded restaurant serving traditional European dishes such as sole meunière and Wiener schnitzel.
