There’s no place like Paris, stunning photos to take you to its streets

With love from Paris
The year of pandemic, among other things, has made us value and miss travelling all the more. It’s probably only now, in decades, that we are confined to homes, wondering of the privilege it was to travel. And, of all the places, Paris is what we miss the most. This year, there is no prancing around the Eiffel, no customary book-shopping at the Shakespeare & Co., no unnecessary splurging at the Champs-Elysées. Here is a look at the quintessential Paris experiences that the travel community seems to be missing.
A coffee at Cafe Procope
A trip to Paris is incomplete unless you have had a cup or more of coffee at Cafe Procope. It is hailed as the mecca for coffee lovers, and also as the oldest cafe in Paris. Need we write more?
Sunset sails at the Seine
The dreamers here are missing this one more than all things combined. Sunsets, while sailing on the Seine, are one of the very few perfect things in the world. We cannot wait to go back to those post-COVID; till then, we can certainly dream.
People watching at Luxembourg Gardens
When in Paris, don’t do much, for you can have some really good time just watching people and living the emotion that is Paris. Luxembourg Gardens is, thus, one place that we love with all our heart. Sprawl yourself on a picnic chair and you are good to go.
An evening in Paris
An evening at the Eiffel Tower, to be more specific. While it perhaps is one of the most cliched of all Paris experiences, there is no getting over the charm of an evening spent across the awe-inspiringly lit Eiffel. Let’s just call it the old-school love of the travel community.
The perfection of Notre Dame
Year 2019 saw a massive fire at Notre Dame, as its famous spire came crashing down. Just as we were hoping for its renovation to pick pace, COVID spread across the world. The good, old times of poring over the brilliant architecture of Notre Dame is further yet.
The good, old Louvre
Even as a lot of us complained about the massive crowd at the Louvre, we are pretty much in love with it. Of course, the love is much more than for just the Mona Lisa conspiracy theories; our regular fooling around for classic photos at the Louvre is definitely missed.
Doses of art at Montmartre
Afternoon strolls at Montmartre was all that we needed to satiate our artsy side. Of course, there is good coffee and some great nightlife options that are also being missed.
Arc de Triomphe sunrises
The one time none of us complained about waking up early in the mornings was the sunrise time at Paris’ Arc de Triomphe. The sight is all things that a good dream is made of, just more real.
And the fashion
Paris is, undoubtedly, one of the most fashionable cities in the world. Fashionable without losing on the subtle charm that the Parisians have; we definitely miss the times we spent in the streets of Paris, awe-struck by the simple wonder that the city and its people are.
