The unofficial headquarters of surfers, this is where you will find surfing schools that has the potential of swelling the population of Tamarindo to almost ten times during holiday season, which is July and December. This is one place where you would never run out of options to do things. If you are a water person, you are at the right place. Scuba dive with PADI certification, take white water rafting, surfing or tubing classes, snorkel, or go fishing and sailing, take kayak tours. If you are a beach person enquire about horseback riding, zip line, book a canopy tour or rent an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to get into the forest. If you have planned to do nothing much, then this is also a spa haven to massage your troubles away.
