Switzerland is a poet’s muse and a writer’s fantasy. It is a celebration of every form of happiness in this mortal world. It is about being in a perpetual state of trance courtesy of the bountiful blues, the gorgeous greens and the winsome whites (not the race). A doctor could easily prescribe a heavy dose of this country to an ailing patient and expect a perfect cure. There’s a little bit of magic in this illustrious land and at the same time, there’s the remarkable realization that all of it is true. That’s Switzerland for you; it is a bag full of the most delightful of surprises. My tryst with Switzerland began in 2006, as a majorly impressionable and naïve 15-year-old. I had only visited certain parts of Southeast Asia in the past and was therefore completely stoked at the thought of physically being in all those places Yash Chopra had so brilliantly glorified on the silver screen. Only upon my arrival did I realize that there indeed was something exquisite about it. I swear on all the chocolates I gladly devoured.
