Standing right behind Kiyiomizu-Dera is the Jishu Shrine dedicated to the deity of matchmaking and many wanderers tread between its stone paths in the quest for love. Also home to the Okunoin and Zuigudo Halls along with the three-storyed Koyasu Pagoda, Kiyomizu-Dera is a must visit in Kyoto. And once you’re done with the temple hopping, do not forget to drink some holy water from the Otowa Waterfall for success and longevity. The bustling lanes of the Higashiyama District with its souvenir and sweet shops will be waiting for you with open arms after your mini pilgrimage.
