Adding to the beauty of this otherwise historic city is the lovely Kailana/Kaylana Lake, located around 10 km west from the city centre. Built in the year 1872 by Pratap Singh, this artificial lake and the area around is a heaven for birdwatchers, and hence, is also amongst the most visited lakes in Rajasthan. People come here in search of peace and to witness the mesmerizing views of the sunset; there is, of course, nothing more serene than watching the Sun being swallowed by a water body! Tourists can also opt for boat rides that are available here to get in the middle of the lake, and click some amazing pictures of the surroundings. Not to be missed if exploring the lesser touristy side of Jodhpur is on your mind.
