Adjacent to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, this public beach is especially popular on weekends when it is filled with sunbathing expats and tourists playing beach tennis or having a picnic.
The gentle waves and warm waters of the Arabian Gulf are enticing to surfers and stand-up paddle boarders. At Umm Suqeim you can take a lesson from Surf Dubai, an International Surfing Association accredited school that gives private lessons daily and group lessons on weekends. Lessons need to be booked in advance, and learner boards are provided.
