Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’ to showcase the beauty of Varanasi on screen

The old city of Varanasi has been Bollywood’s favourite shooting hub since ages now. From superhit flicks such as Raanjhanaa, Water, Laaga Chunri Me Daag, Mukti Bhawan and Masaan, there are a number of Bollywood as well as Hollywood movies that have been shot in the city. And now, the city is once again in buzz for Hritik Roshan’s movie ‘Super 30’ has being shot at various prominent locations in the city. The famous Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, along with his team, was in Varanasi to shoot the movie, and this will make it to the silver screen with the movie.

Balua Ghat
Balua Ghat offers dramatic views of the old Ramnagar Fort; there is also a small bridge over the river for the convenience of commuters. People visit this ghat to witness the undisturbed views of sunset or sunrise, which looks absolutely stunning. Some crucial parts of the movie Super 30 have been shot on this ghat too.
Khidkiya Ghat near Vyas Temple

Some of the prime scenes of Super 30 are also shot at the Khidkiya Ghat of Varanasi, which is close to the Vyas Temple. This is the same place, where initial parts of Ranjhaana were shot.

Ramnagar Fort

Ramnagar Fort is one historic and gorgeous fort located on the banks of the River Ganga, just opposite to the famous Tulsi Ghat in Varanasi. Built back in the year 1750, using sandstones, this Mughal-style fort was constructed by Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh. It served as home to kings of Kashi for a long time, but as of now, the structure is not in good shape. The fort was converted into Patna University for the movie Super 30 and a lot of crucial scenes in the movie have been shot here. Other than these, Super 30 is expected to showcase Varanasi’s quintessential old-world charm, and the famous lanes.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 is a biographical drama about Anand Kumar, the Patna–based mathematician and his educational program ‘Super 30’ in Patna. The movie is all set to release next year on January 25, 2019.
